3. How we use your information
We use personal data where necessary to operate and improve Fix My Home, including to:
- create, authenticate and maintain your account;
- analyse repair photos and descriptions that you submit;
- generate repair guidance, materials information and project tools;
- save and retrieve your projects, notes and project photos;
- manage Pro access, in-app purchases and restoration of purchases;
- protect the service against misuse, fraud and security threats;
- maintain, troubleshoot and improve the reliability of the service;
- respond to support or privacy requests; and
- comply with legal and regulatory obligations.
4. Legal bases
Where UK or European data-protection law applies, our legal basis depends on the processing involved. We generally process data because it is necessary to provide the service you request and perform our contract with you, because we have legitimate interests in operating and securing the service, or because we must comply with a legal obligation. Where consent is legally required, we will ask for it.
5. Photos, AI analysis and generated guidance
When you choose a repair photo for analysis, the image and any description you submit are sent to our service so that the requested analysis can be performed. Fix My Home uses OpenAI services to support AI-powered analysis and visual-generation features. Project photos that you choose to save may also be stored with your account.
Do not upload images or text that you do not have the right to use, or information you do not want processed for the purpose of providing the requested Fix My Home feature.
6. In-app purchases
Purchases of Fix My Home Pro are processed through the applicable app marketplace, including Apple through the App Store and Google through Google Play. Fix My Home does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details. RevenueCat is used to help manage purchase status and entitlements so that Pro access can be activated and restored to your Fix My Home account.
7. Service providers
We use service providers to operate Fix My Home. These currently include:
- Supabase — account authentication, database and storage services;
- OpenAI — AI-powered repair analysis and visual-generation services;
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase and entitlement management;
- Apple — App Store distribution and in-app purchase processing;
- Google — Google Play distribution and in-app purchase processing; and
- Railway — application hosting and backend infrastructure.
These providers process information only as needed to provide their services to us, subject to their own contractual and privacy obligations.
8. International transfers
Some service providers may process data outside the United Kingdom or the country where you live. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as recognised contractual protections or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
9. How long we keep information
We keep account and project information for as long as your account remains active and for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Fix My Home. Information may be retained for longer where required for security, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, legal compliance or the establishment or defence of legal claims.
When you delete your Fix My Home account using the in-app account deletion function, we will initiate deletion of the account and associated Fix My Home data, subject to any information we must retain for legal or legitimate operational reasons.
10. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration. No internet or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
11. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal data. In the UK and EEA these may include rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or to object to certain processing. Where processing is based on consent, you may also be able to withdraw that consent.
You can request help with your privacy rights by emailing support@fixmyhomeapp.co.uk. You may also delete your Fix My Home account from within the app.
If you are in the United Kingdom and believe your data-protection rights have been infringed, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
12. Children
Fix My Home is a general home-repair utility and is not designed specifically for children. We do not knowingly use the service to solicit sensitive personal information from children. Parents or guardians who believe a child has provided personal data inappropriately may contact us so we can review the situation.
13. Tracking and advertising
Fix My Home does not use the personal data described in this policy for cross-app targeted advertising or advertising tracking, and we do not sell personal data to data brokers.
14. Third-party links
